Meghan Markle and Prince Harry spent their Saturday with their two children in the United Kingdom. They skipped the historic Platinum Party at the Palace to celebrate their youngest child’s first birthday.

Earlier that day, a spokesperson for the former working royals confirmed their decision not to attend the event at Buckingham Palace. Express UK said that the announcement emerged hours before the concert began.

It remains unclear how the Duke and Duchess of Sussex marked their daughter’s special day. But, the rep stated that they would spend the day “privately.”

Meanwhile, the rest of the British Royal Family were in attendance at the Platinum Party. Among the attendees were reportedly Prince Charles, Camilla Parker Bowles, Prince William, and Kate Middleton.

The concert began after dinner inside Buckingham Palace. Some of the guests and performers include Alicia Keys, Adam Lambert, Ella Eyre, and Hans Zimmer.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s youngest daughter received warm greetings from members of the Royal Firm on the same day. BBC said that many of them turned to Twitter to share birthday wishes for the youngest member of the Sussex household.

Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles wished Lilibet a “very happy birthday.” Prince William and Kate Middleton had a similar greeting, which featured a red balloon emoji.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex named their youngest child “Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor.” The move was an honor for Queen Elizabeth II, whose nickname has been “Lilibet” since her childhood years, and the late Princess of Wales.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle welcomed their daughter in the United States on June 4, 2021. The family’s return to the United Kingdom earlier this week marked their youngest child’s first visit to the British Royals’ turf.

It remains unknown whether the British Monarch has already met her youngest great-granddaughter. But, there reportedly have been speculations that the meeting potentially took place on Thursday.

Some royal experts and commentators have asserted the possibility of a christening for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's daughter on her first birthday. Express UK released a separate report on the matter, detailing the apparent claims and speculations.

Speaking to “BBC Breakfast” host Naga Manchetty, Sarah Campbell shared that there had been talks about a christening on the Windsor Estate on Saturday. She pointed out, though, that there remains several unknowns in this dynamic because it would classed as a “private family event.”

Expert Richard Palmer also reportedly had similar statements about a possible christening for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s daughter. He told “Royal Roundup” host Pandora Forsyth that there had been discussions among the public about the matter.

But, he stated that he did not receive any word about it. Moreover, no confirmations or comments from the British Royals have emerged, so “no one knows” what would happen.
