Gary Cole is allegedly desperate to reunite with his NCIS co-stars, but no one seems to be on the same page with him.

In its May 30 issue, National Enquirer claimed that Cole is allegedly fighting a losing battle by trying to replace the former on the show. However, this hasn’t been successful for him because fans still want to see Harmon in the TV show.

“Gary’s been desperate to fill Mark’s shoes and fit in with the other series regulars, and it’s kind of pitiful. Onset, he tries to impress everyone by doing voices from the animated series he’s done. He brings puzzles to share, and people are bracing for more annoying behavior even before season 20 gets underway,” the source said.

The source also claimed that while NCIS is on hiatus, Cole keeps texting his co-stars and asks them if they want to hang out with him. However, he has not gotten a favorable response from them.

“Now that the show’s gone on hiatus, he’s still texting and calling co-stars to tell jokes and stories and suggest get-togethers. It just comes off as desperate. Gary’s trying to win over fans too by publicly saying he’s not trying to replace Mark. But the fact remains they don’t like him as much as Mark. Some fans are hoping Mark will come back, and there’s certainly a door left open for that to happen if Mark changes his mind,” the source said.

The source added that Cole’s co-stars have also been criticizing him behind his back. And they have been calling him the poor man’s version of Harmon.

However, one should take the tabloid’s claims with a grain of salt.

As of late, there’s no indication that Cole is trying to replace Harmon in the hearts of NCIS fans and their co-stars. After all, the two actors are very different from one another.

It’s not also true that Cole’s co-stars have been avoiding his invitations because they like Harmon more.

It’s more likely for everyone to have already moved on since it’s been months since Harmon exited NCIS.

And when it comes to claims that he might still return, this is indeed a possibility. After all, his character wasn’t killed off from the show.

However, it’s unlikely for Harmon to return as a series regular because Cole already replaced him.
