Wynonna Judd once stood up for her mother, Naomi Judd, after receiving a shocking insult from a television personality.

Cheat Sheet recalled the incident, which Entertainment Tonight first reported in 2015. As stated, the late TV icon and personality Robin Leach upset the duo during an engagement for “Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous.”

During the appearance of The Judds, Naomi presented her dress and asked the host about his thoughts on her ensemble. To the surprise of the two artists and the public, Leach said it was “hideous.”

Naomi Judd, later on, dished how Wynonna Judd defended her, adding that her daughter urged the television personality to apologize to her in person.

She shared in an interview that Wynonna came into her dressing room “like a raging bull.” Her eldest did so to tell her that Robin Leach was arriving to say sorry to her due to the earlier insult.

The now-57-year-old artist then explained during an engagement that she did not like the television host hurting her mother’s feelings. “She is my mom,” and “if she wants to show up in spandex and a tube top [then] go girl.”

The recently unearthed story about Wynonna and Naomi Judd comes weeks after the country singer’s death. She passed away on April 30, with her daughters confirming the matter to The Associated Press.

In an official statement, Ashley and Wynonna Judd announced their mother’s passing, noting that it is a “tragedy.” The two celebrities also revealed that they lost their “beautiful” mom to “the disease of mental illness.”

Naomi’s daughters continued they are “shattered,” adding that they are in “unknown territory.” They shared, as well, that they are “navigating profound grief” following the tragic loss.

In the same statement, Wynonna and Ashley, later on, noted that their mom died near Nashville, Tennessee. But, they did not give any more details about the tragedy, although they asked for privacy amid grieving.

On Thursday, Ashley Judd opened up for the first time to reveal the cause of Naomi Judd’s death, according to CNN. She told Diane Sawyer in an interview for “Good Morning America” that her mother “used a weapon,” particularly a “firearm.”

The “Double Jeopardy” actress also noted that she and the rest of their family had agreed about her sharing the matter before the public. She noted, however, that it is a “piece of information [that they] are very uncomfortable sharing.”

Even so, the 54-year-old star said that they are “in a position” where if they do not say it, “someone else is going to” do it. She, later on, revealed that she has “both grief and trauma” as she was the one who discovered her mother.
