Sam Asghari and Britney Spears shared their grief with their fans and followers on social media. The pair announced that they suffered a miscarriage, which they deem a “devastating time for any parent.”

USA Today said that the engaged couple took their announcement to Instagram on Saturday. The statement begins, “It is with our deepest sadness we have to announce that we have lost our miracle baby early in the pregnancy.”

Asghari and Spears continued that “perhaps,” they “should have waited” to make their pregnancy known “until [they] were further along. But, they did otherwise because they were “overly excited to share the good news” before the public.

Before ending the post, the twosome noted that their love for each other is their “strength.” They also stated that they would “continue trying to expand [their] beautiful family.”

In the end, Britney Spears and Sam Asghari said they are “grateful” for all the support from fans. They consequently requested privacy amid the difficult time.

The “Oops I Did It Again” singer and her fiance announced their pregnancy earlier in April. She told her followers on Instagram that she “got a pregnancy test” and was “having a baby.”

At the time, she recalled what happened before taking the test. She shared that she was “confused” at first about what was going on with her body, especially after their Maui trip.

Elsewhere in the announcement, Britney Spears stated that she would not make public appearances “as much” to avoid paparazzi. She then touched on her mental health, particularly during her previous pregnancy.

Meanwhile, Sam Asghari made a similar announcement on the same platform. He told his Instagram followers that “marriage and kids are a natural part of a strong relationship,” which he said to be “filled with love and respect.”

The 28-year-old actor also pointed out that he had always looked forward to fatherhood, thus, he was not taking it “lightly.” He added that “it is the most important job” he would ever do.

Britney Spears and Sam Asghari first met in 2016. The actor starred as the singer’s love interest in her “Slumber Party” music video, according to Us Weekly.

Reports said that it was love at first sight for the two celebrities. After their first encounter, they reportedly exchanged numbers and went on to date.

It was not until January 2017 that they made their relationship “Instagram official.” Spears uploaded a photo of them from their New Year’s Day dinner.

The twosome faced several engagement rumors over the years. But, Asghari made it official upon proposing to the songstress in September 2021.
