Dancing With the Stars won’t air a new season in the fall. And the program has also moved to Disney+ after 16 years of airing on ABC.

In its May 23 issue, National Enquirer claimed that the people behind the show are blaming host Tyra Banks for the changes.

Since a lot of fans don’t like Banks and the fact that she replaced longtime hosts, Erin Andrew, and Tom Bergeron, they are accusing her of dragging Dancing With the Stars down.

But a source claimed that former America’s Got Talent founder won’t go down without a fight. In fact, she’s also allegedly insisting on her return to the program even if no one wants her there.

“Tyra isn’t going to make this easy for them. She has a strong team of reps and tons of producing experience so she’s not going to just sit back and let them cut her out of the equation. Show honchos want to put it all on Tyra, but she’s not going to take the fall for this. She’s going totally nuclear and threatening to spill all kinds of show secrets unless they keep her around. Either that or they’ll have to pay her off to leave quietly,” the source said.

Amid the backlash, there were claims that some of the contestants and staff felt alienated by Banks’ behavior because she acted like a total diva in front of everyone.

Dancing With the Stars also received some of its lowest ratings while Banks served as host on the show.

But despite all the criticisms, Banks vows to come out on top.

“Tyra’s a very tough cookie and she’s not going to make this easy for them. She won’t be their scapegoat. She wants a huge exit package and recognition. She’s already started a campaign to line up people on her side. There are plenty of people who are bitter about how they’ve been treated and Tyra’s using that. She knows how to play the Hollywood game,” the source said.

As of late, it has already been confirmed that Banks won’t return to Dancing With the Stars when it premieres on Disney+. So, the tabloid's claims about the former model wanting to come out on top aren’t correct.

Banks can’t do anything much because she has already been axed from the hit dance reality TV show.
