Meghan Markle and Prince Harry surprised the public when they visited Queen Elizabeth ahead of the Invictus Games.

In its May 2 issue, Us Weekly claimed that no one predicted that Prince Harry and Markle would visit Windsor Castle because they kept their trip a secret.

A source also claimed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex took the Invictus Games as an opportunity to visit Her Majesty. But they wouldn’t have done it if not because of the monarch’s failing health.

“People heard rumblings of a potential visit, but no one actually knew they were coming. They kept it a secret. They went to see the queen because she’s been unwell since she caught Covid. She has long Covid symptoms, and the prognosis is uncertain,” the source said.

The source also claimed that Prince Harry and Markle wanted to spend some time with the queen especially since she’s not getting any younger. Just days ago, the monarch celebrated her 96th birthday.

According to the source, it has also been especially difficult for Prince Harry to see his grandmother’s health deteriorating. Years ago, she was still able to attend her royal engagements. But in recent months, she has either been canceling her attendance at the last minute or passing it on to her successors.

“Walking is just getting harder so she canceled plans because she’s not in a place where she can move on her own. It doesn’t seem like the queen is on her deathbed, but anything can happen at her age,” the source said.

However, one should take the tabloid’s claims with a grain of salt.

If the queen’s health is deteriorating to the point that it’s causing Prince Harry to worry, he would most likely share some information about it during his interview with Hoda Kotb.

However, the Duke of Sussex didn’t say anything about the queen suffering from long Covid symptoms, which proves that the tabloid just made up this story about the monarch.

It’s not also true that Prince Harry and Markle finally visited the queen because of her failing health. It just so happened that the couple was heading to The Hague so they took the opportunity to visit Her Majesty at Windsor Castle.

Prince Harry and Markle also met up with Prince Charles briefly before they traveled to watch the Invictus Games.
