Several A-list celebrities comforted and “consoled” Chris Rock on Sunday evening at an Oscars after-party. A host of stunned personalities even reportedly approached him to offer their support.

Page Six learned the matter from a source and noted that the comedian was at Guy Oseary’s annual party after the awarding ceremony. As claimed, he was “very calm,” adding that “there was a lot of love for him” at the bash.

It is said that guests “lined up to console him” while sitting at the music manager’s dining table. Also, Wanda Sykes was reportedly his “wingman for the night.”

The insider, then, shared that Rock, also, hung out with Sacha Baron Cohen and Woody Harrelson. They told him that “what happened was completely wrong.”

The infamous slap incident at the Oscars was allegedly the “talk of the party.” Even so, Chris Rock “remained unfazed,” with the informant stating that he stayed at the after-event until past 2:30 in the morning.

There were reportedly some concerns, as well, about Will Smith showing up at the same after-party. There was even a “discussion” about what they would do to keep the two celebrities apart.

But, the “King Richard” actor did not show up. He partied at the annual Vanity Fair bash alongside Jada Pinkett Smith and their children.

On late Monday, Will Smith issued a public apology on his official Instagram account. He apologized to Chris Rock, saying he was “out of line” and “wrong.”

The actor shared that he is “embarrassed,” adding that his actions “were not indicative of the man [he] wants to be.” He, also, noted that “there is no place for violence in a world of love and kindness.”

Elsewhere in the post, Smith deemed his behavior “unacceptable and inexcusable.” He emphasized, as well, that “violence in all forms is poisonous and destructive.”

The 53-year-old celebrity, who won the Best Actor gong at this year’s Oscars, went on to apologize, as well, to “the Academy, the producers of the show, all the attendees, and everyone watching around the world. He included in the note the family of Venus and Serena Williams, as well as those involved with the film, “King Richard.”

Smith ended his apology by saying he “deeply regrets” his behavior that “has stained what has been an otherwise gorgeous journey” for everyone. “I am a work in progress,” he concluded.

Earlier on Tuesday, Jada Pinkett Smith broke her silence on social media. She posted a message on her official Instagram account that reads: “This is a season for healing and I’m here for it.”

Meanwhile, Chris Rock has yet to make any official statement or comment about the entire debacle.
