Stephanie Beatriz voiced the character of Mirabel Madrigal on Disney’s “Encanto.” While recording the film’s track, “Waiting on a Miracle,” she was pregnant and in labor.

Cheat Sheet said the actress herself made the revelation to Variety. It came as the publication interviewed voice actors to know what it was like recording from home amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Beatriz recalled that she was already having some contractions on the day of the recording. But, she decided not to tell anyone over at Disney, thinking that it might “freak [them] out.”

Accordingly, she crossed her fingers and finished the song before her baby arrived. The following day, she gave birth to her first child.

“Encanto” co-director Byron Howard, then, shared that they had no idea about Stephanie Beatriz already having contractions and in labor amid the recording of “Waiting on a Miracle.” Although they knew she was “very ready to have that baby,” he stated that the actress did not tell them “she was almost, almost ready.”

Meanwhile, actor and songwriter Lin-Manuel Miranda reportedly thought that the “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” star was singing “Waiting on a Miracle” while she, on her own, was waiting for her miracle, which is her baby.

Elsewhere in the report, the outlet said that Beatriz originally auditioned for another “Encanto” role. She used her own version of “You’re Welcome” from Disney’s “Moana” for the audition.

Stephanie Beatriz welcomed her first-born daughter in August. She made an official announcement through an Instagram post in August.

The 41-year-old actress uploaded a photo of herself with her child while in a car seat. She captioned the image saying, “BÉBÉ HAS ARRIVED,” according to Page Six.

Beatriz continued that she was “very in awe of the entire experience” of having her baby. She, also, described it as “incredible,” “hard,” “beautiful,” and “emotional,” before noting that she could not remember “ever being [that] amazed and feeling so overwhelmingly full of gratitude.”

Stephanie Beatriz first revealed her pregnancy earlier in June. She announced the happy news on Instagram, featuring a photo of her and her baby bump, alongside her husband, Brad Hoss.

The actress got engaged to the marketing director in 2017, about a year after she came out as bisexual. Us Weekly noted that she wrote an essay for GQ ahead of her nuptials, saying her marriage to Hoss would not make her “any less queer.”

Four months later, Beatriz and her partner tied the knot in Los Angeles. She shared some snaps of her wedding preparations on social media.
