Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez are allegedly planning to elope to London.

In its March 21 issue, Globe claimed that the A-listers have set their sights on London because this is where they want to tie the knot.

A source claimed that Lopez and Affleck’s friends are urging them to tie the knot first before they start with their other plans. But the former allegedly wants to elope instead.

“Jennifer is starting to lean toward an elopement first followed by a big bash later when the pressure’s off. She’s terrified of Ben pulling out and running away at the last minute as he did in 2004,” the source said.

The insider claimed that Affleck promised Lopez that he wouldn’t do what he did back then. But Lopez couldn’t help but worry because she doesn’t want to be left alone at the altar.

“He swears that’ll never happen again, but Jennifer is still scarred by the experience and she’s thinking a small formal affair in London or Paris would be so romantic and special,” the source said.

The insider also claimed that Affleck would be signing on for the upcoming Barbie movie, and the filming would take place in England. So, Affleck could check out venues and other prospects for when he and Lopez elope.

“Ben’s excited to turn it into a fun relocation experience for himself and Jennifer. It’ll be like a working honeymoon for them. They’re both keen to build up the ‘Bennifer’ brand in Europe too and so this will be a great stepping stone. Jennifer totally calls the shots so if she wants to elope while they’re overseas that’s what they’ll do. It will be super small. Once they’re back in California, they’ll have a glitzy bash with all their famous friends,” the source said.

However, one should take the tabloid’s claims with a grain of salt.

There’s no reason for Lopez and Affleck to elope because they are not teenagers in need of their parent's approval. The A-listers are adults and everyone in their lives is supportive of their relationship.

And it doesn’t also make sense for Lopez and Affleck to elope to England only to return to the United States later and hold a second wedding ceremony for their celebrity friends.

It’s obvious that the tabloid just concocted this story for clickbait.
