Amanda Seyfried had a suggestion for Leonardo DiCaprio amid working for “Red Riding Hood.” But, it was not thrilling for the veteran actor upon hearing his lead star’s idea.

The “Mean Girls” actress recalled how the “Inception” star “got insulted” with her request, according to Cheat Sheet. She told The Mirror in 2010 that she asked DiCaprio if he would play his dad in the film.

The “Titanic” star responded to Seyfried, saying he does not do “male leads in love stories any more.” She countered that she was not talking about male leads as she was referring to the dad role for Valerie in “Red Riding Hood.”

She added, “you’re what, 35? Age yourself up a bit.”

Elsewhere in the report, Amanda Seyfried previously revealed that she might not have found herself in the world of acting if not for Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes. She explained the matter in a 2020 interview with South China Morning Post.

The then-35-year-old actress revealed that the “Romeo + Juliet” lead stars were her “role model.” She shared that “love stories always inspire [her],” adding that she fell in love with movies because of DiCaprio and Danes’ respective characters in the film.

After working with Leonardo DiCaprio in “Red Riding Hood,” wherein he served as a producer, Amanda Seyfried sang praises for the actor via Access.

She stated that the “Don’t Look Up” star was a “big part of the casting process,” noting that it was “good because his input is always wanted.” She, also, emphasized how the actor “makes great choices” after working in the industry for a long time.

Seyfried asserted, as well, that DiCaprio is “like a godfather.” She even likened him to [Robert] De Niro, saying that he is like the “GoodFellas” star “to the younger generation of actors.”

These days, Amanda Seyfried remains occupied with her projects. The latest films she did were “Things Head & Seen” and “A Mouthful of Air,” which both premiered in 2021.

In 2022, she takes on the lead role for Hulu’s new and ongoing miniseries, “The Dropout.” She plays the character of the infamous Elizabeth Holmes, who was convicted of criminal fraud.

The material follows the rise and fall of the disgraced biotech entrepreneur, as well as her company, Theranos. It takes its grounds on the ABC Audio podcast of the same name.

The first three episodes dropped on the streaming platform on March 3. It will continue to release new installments every week until April 7.
